Not only do designers study cultural devices to communicate, designers are culture makers. We create artifacts that express humanity to make the world a better place.

This project was founded by Carrie A. Dyer in 2014, Design Educator, as a professional collaborative extension of the classroom for students. Distinguished Collaborating Educators include Janis Dougherty & Cory Gurley.

     Design Poster Archive

The Educational Graphic Design Poster Archive is a collection of posters by professional designers and students. The goal of the project is to create an archive for students to study as professional examples. This  project was started by  Carrie A. Dyer in 2008.

The ART OBJECT : BENEFIT PROJECT is a collaborative project based around social responsibility & the act of making as a catalyst for positive community growth. The project aims to develop an atmosphere where students are exposed to ethical frameworks where one has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large.

c_ . Artifact [Bold] Exhibit

In collaboration with the School of Art & Design at High Point University and Emily Gerhold, ARTIFACT [BOLD] was founded in 2021 as a national biennial exhibition of graphic design, new media, illustration, printmaking, and the expanded field. Whether they are building immersive environments that evoke emotional responses or producing concept-driven type, illustration, or sequence systems, the role of the designer is to create objects that make brave, bold formal and conceptual statements and reflect critical cultural moments.

Founded in 2013, The FL3tch3R Exhibit, Socially & Politically Engaged Art is an annual  international juried exhibition. Carrie A. Dyer is a Co-Founder and the Creative Director of the Exhibit. This exhibition explores the current trends and trajectory in this field. Recent social, political, and economic uncertainty has encouraged the production of works that are not meant for mere market commodity but rather these works serve as avenues or agents for societal transformation.
